Draft Grade — Eagles

FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Eagles a B-. If confidence were a draft strategy, the Eagles would have aced it. Lawson Luckie at the Round 4 slot is 104 spots clear of where he belonged. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Getting Wheatley where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most. The dealing was even money, start to finish.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
In pick 25 they get an island corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick58
Rnd2
Eli Stowers
The board had cheaper options than Eli Stowers at the 58th pick, and it noticed. The roster fit checks out.
Pick69
Rnd3
Diego Pavia
Diego Pavia at the Round 3 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick98
Rnd3
Zakee Wheatley
Somehow Zakee Wheatley was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 34, and they pounced on premier safety value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick126
Rnd4
Kevin Coleman Jr.
A big swing on Kevin Coleman Jr. at No. 126, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick137
Rnd4
Lawson Luckie
A wild overpay on Lawson Luckie in pick No. 137, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick150
Rnd5
Jacob Rodriguez
Jacob Rodriguez in No. 150 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick197
Rnd6
Trebor Pena
They liked Trebor Pena enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 197. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick207
Rnd6
Amare Campbell
Amare Campbell at pick 207 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick223
Rnd7
Cayden Lee
Cayden Lee in the Round 7 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
