The Falcons let Payton fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

Somebody in pick 256 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Falcons sat still while Cole Payton, the No. 238 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

If Durant pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.

Nice patience on Christen Miller, who had no business lasting to slot 49. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
