Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The phones sank the Ravens this weekend: D-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Gabe Jacas at the 62nd pick is 30 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

They banked enough surplus on Banks to cover a lot of smaller sins. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In pick No. 14 they get a No. 1 receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick45 Rnd2 Caleb Banks
The board fumbled Caleb Banks all the way to pick 45, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
Pick47 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Olaivavega Ioane in Round 2, Pick 15. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick62 Rnd2 Gabe Jacas
They reached into another round for Gabe Jacas, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick80 Rnd3 Malik Muhammad
A clean, defensible pick in the 80th overall pick with a little surplus value in Malik Muhammad. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick115 Rnd4 DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart at slot 115 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick172 Rnd5 Oscar Delp
A straight-up fair deal on Oscar Delp at No. 172, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick173 Rnd5 Charles Jagusah
Charles Jagusah in pick No. 173 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick249 Rnd7 Roman Hemby
Roman Hemby at the 249th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick252 Rnd7 Eric Gentry
Eric Gentry at Round 7, Pick 36 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
