Whoever sat across the table from the Patriots should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

McAlister falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Patriots paired the rookies with proven help, Brian Burns leading the way.

On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
