Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesC+ FutureB-
The Browns checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Browns did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to quarterback, which was the need that mattered most. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball. Their trades came out a wash either way.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In pick No. 6 they get a difference-maker at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick24 Rnd1 Colton Hood
In the Round 1 slot they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39 Rnd2 Romello Height
Romello Height at slot 39 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick70 Rnd3 Connor Lew
Connor Lew in the 70th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick116 Rnd4 Parker Brailsford
Parker Brailsford in pick 116 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick139 Rnd5 Isaiah World
A straight-up fair deal on Isaiah World at the 139th pick, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick147 Rnd5 Kage Casey
They took Kage Casey at par in Round 5, Pick 9, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick153 Rnd5 Jalen Stroman
Jalen Stroman in No. 153 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It fills a real need, too.
Pick204 Rnd6 Charles Jagusah
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Charles Jagusah. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick248 Rnd7 Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster in the 248th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
