Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Rams turned the phones into found money: B+.

Whoever sat across the table from the Rams should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.

With running back, quarterback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Avieon Terrell
In slot 20 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value.
Pick29 Rnd1 Chris Brazzell II
In the 29th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick49 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Dillon Thieneman at Round 2, Pick 17 is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick61 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jake Slaughter at the 61st pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick93 Rnd3 Harold Perkins Jr.
They paid sticker price for Harold Perkins Jr. in pick No. 93, and that is fine. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick112 Rnd4 D'Angelo Ponds
They bypassed pressing needs at running back, quarterback and other spots to take D'Angelo Ponds, a cornerback that was not the priority.
Pick167 Rnd5 Earnest Greene III
Earnest Greene III in No. 167 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick205 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at pick 205 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick208 Rnd6 Barion Brown
No edge and no loss on Barion Brown in slot 208; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick232 Rnd7 PJ Williams
A clean, defensible pick in pick 232 with a little surplus value in PJ Williams. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick250 Rnd7 Micah Morris
Micah Morris at pick No. 250 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick256 Rnd7 Ja'Keem Jackson
Ja'Keem Jackson at the 256th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
