Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Dolphins: B-.

You can usually follow a front office's logic. This one is harder. The Dolphins spent pick 87 on Daylen Everette while quarterback, running back and other spots sat unaddressed.

A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They will need Banks to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Caleb Banks
A reach for Caleb Banks in the 11th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick43 Rnd2 Brandon Cisse
A straight-up fair deal on Brandon Cisse at the 43rd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick75 Rnd3 Domonique Orange
A reasonable price with a little left over, Domonique Orange in Round 3, Pick 11. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick87 Rnd3 Daylen Everette
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 87th pick on Daylen Everette with quarterback, running back and other spots unsolved.
Pick90 Rnd3 Jack Endries
The board had cheaper options than Jack Endries at pick No. 90, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick111 Rnd4 Keylan Rutledge
They jumped the gun on Keylan Rutledge, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick149 Rnd5 Aamil Wagner
Aamil Wagner at No. 149 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick227 Rnd7 London Humphreys
London Humphreys at pick 227 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
