Best value of the weekend goes to the Eagles for Ponds: D-. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Eagles did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. If Parker II pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Landing Ponds that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Jordyn Tyson
Value with a capital V on Jordyn Tyson in the 19th overall pick, a genuine coup. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick59
Rnd2
Brian Parker II
Brian Parker II in pick No. 59 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick69
Rnd3
D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds at pick 69 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick74
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
Nice patience on Eli Stowers, who had no business lasting to slot 74. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick137
Rnd4
Malik Benson
Malik Benson in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick146
Rnd5
Ar'maj Reed-Adams
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ar'maj Reed-Adams in No. 146. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick176
Rnd5
Kaleb Proctor
Good price on Kaleb Proctor in the Round 5 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick179
Rnd5
Matt Gulbin
Matt Gulbin in the 179th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick213
Rnd6
Bud Clark
Bud Clark at slot 213 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
Pick243
Rnd7
Jaren Kanak
Jaren Kanak at Round 7, Pick 27 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick244
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
A straight-up fair deal on Trey Zuhn III at pick 244, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
