Philly V DRAFTING FOR THEEagles

Grand theft in the 98th overall pick: the Eagles steal McNeil-Warren and grade out a D. The phones were a trap the Eagles kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. However the rest shakes out, McNeil-Warren at that price is a win they earned. The cost of the Daniels reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
In pick 23 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick54
Rnd2
Emmanuel Pregnon
Nice patience on Emmanuel Pregnon, who had no business lasting to pick No. 54. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick68
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
Good price on Eli Stowers in No. 68, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
Pick74
Rnd3
Josiah Trotter
A quiet steal in the Round 3 slot: Josiah Trotter for less than the market said. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick96
Rnd3
Caden Curry
Caden Curry at the 96th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick98
Rnd3
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
They will replay Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at slot 98 for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick122
Rnd4
D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds in the 122nd pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick137
Rnd4
CJ Daniels
CJ Daniels at the 137th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick146
Rnd5
Tanner Koziol
A straight-up fair deal on Tanner Koziol at slot 146, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick151
Rnd5
Aamil Wagner
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Aamil Wagner. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick179
Rnd5
Jalon Daniels
Jalon Daniels in pick No. 179 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick201
Rnd6
De'Zhaun Stribling
De'Zhaun Stribling in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
