Draft Grade — Eagles

The Eagles cashed the board's mistake on Allen: D-. Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The Davis pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The Allen value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In pick 26 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A real need, handled.
Pick51
Rnd2
Christen Miller
A tidy bit of business in slot 51, where Christen Miller graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick54
Rnd2
CJ Allen
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, CJ Allen in the 54th overall pick, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick64
Rnd2
Eli Stowers
A reasonable price with a little left over, Eli Stowers in No. 64. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick91
Rnd3
Omar Cooper Jr.
They read the board right and Omar Cooper Jr. was the payoff at pick No. 91. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick98
Rnd3
Zakee Wheatley
They let Zakee Wheatley come to them and pounced at the Round 3 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick109
Rnd4
J.C. Davis
J.C. Davis at Round 4, Pick 9 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick126
Rnd4
Skyler Gill-Howard
Skyler Gill-Howard at the 126th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick146
Rnd5
Keagen Trost
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Keagen Trost. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick151
Rnd5
Kevin Coleman Jr.
They paid sticker price for Kevin Coleman Jr. in pick 151, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick166
Rnd5
Domani Jackson
The board had Domani Jackson higher than No. 166, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick179
Rnd5
Febechi Nwaiwu
Febechi Nwaiwu at the Round 5 slot is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick198
Rnd6
Pat Coogan
Pat Coogan in the 198th pick is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick201
Rnd6
Toriano Pride Jr.
By-the-book stuff, Toriano Pride Jr. at slot 201 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick211
Rnd6
Bud Clark
Good price on Bud Clark in pick 211, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
Pick235
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at the 235th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
