Draft Grade — Eagles

FutureB-
The phones sank the Eagles this weekend: D-. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Eagles did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. A D- that will need time and luck to look better.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. They will need Green to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That Fields pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
They went 8 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
In slot 23 they get a security blanket over the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
Brandon Cisse
A tidy little value on Brandon Cisse in the 40th pick, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick68
Rnd3
Zakee Wheatley
Zakee Wheatley in the 68th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick85
Rnd3
Malachi Fields
A tidy bit of business in Round 3, Pick 21, where Malachi Fields graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick98
Rnd3
Caden Curry
Caden Curry at pick No. 98 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick101
Rnd4
Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch in No. 101 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick122
Rnd4
Eli Raridon
A straight-up fair deal on Eli Raridon at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick137
Rnd4
Tanner Koziol
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tanner Koziol. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick140
Rnd5
Aaron Graves
Aaron Graves at Round 5, Pick 2 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick146
Rnd5
Taylen Green
Value said wait; Taylen Green in the 146th overall pick says they were not listening. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick151
Rnd5
Bryce Boettcher
A premium they did not need to pay, Bryce Boettcher a notch or two before his time. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick179
Rnd5
Bud Clark
No drama and no debate, Bud Clark went about where he belonged in pick No. 179. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick201
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
By-the-book stuff, Trey Zuhn III at pick 201 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
