Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall D
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Eagles got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Eagles shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. It grades a D, and the process earned it.

Johnson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. Cooper Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and running back is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Romello Height
They paid up for Romello Height at pick 23 when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick54 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
A tidy bit of business in slot 54, where Emmanuel Pregnon graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick68 Rnd3 Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers in the 68th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The roster fit checks out.
Pick95 Rnd3 Omar Cooper Jr.
Omar Cooper Jr. is a better player than the Round 3 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick97 Rnd3 D'Angelo Ponds
They went early on D'Angelo Ponds in pick No. 97, and the value did not follow. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick98 Rnd3 Zachariah Branch
They paid a round early for Zachariah Branch in No. 98, more than the board wanted. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick122 Rnd4 Bishop Fitzgerald
Bishop Fitzgerald slipping to the 122nd overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick137 Rnd4 Kage Casey
They paid sticker price for Kage Casey in Round 4, Pick 37, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick151 Rnd5 Pat Coogan
They talked themselves into Pat Coogan at slot 151, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick169 Rnd5 Gracen Halton
No drama and no debate, Gracen Halton went about where he belonged in the 169th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick179 Rnd5 Bud Clark
By-the-book stuff, Bud Clark at Round 5, Pick 41 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick194 Rnd6 Jalon Daniels
Nothing to complain about; Jalon Daniels went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick201 Rnd6 Dijon Johnson
Dijon Johnson at the Round 6 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
