Philly V DRAFTING FOR THEEagles

Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall
D
ValueB

TradesF
FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Eagles to a D. The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Put together, it is a D.
The Hemby reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a seam-stretching tight end, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
Gennings Dunker
A reasonable price with a little left over, Gennings Dunker in No. 54. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick62
Rnd2
A.J. Haulcy
A tidy bit of business in the 62nd overall pick, where A.J. Haulcy graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick68
Rnd3
Julian Neal
A straight-up fair deal on Julian Neal at slot 68, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick98
Rnd3
Caden Curry
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Caden Curry. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick122
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
Bryce Lance slid further than he should have, and the Round 4 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick137
Rnd4
Kage Casey
No edge and no loss on Kage Casey in pick 137; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick151
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
They did well to land Davison Igbinosun in the 151st pick, just ahead of his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick179
Rnd5
Bud Clark
Bud Clark at No. 179 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick201
Rnd6
Jalon Daniels
Jalon Daniels at the Round 6 slot is money in the bank, a quarterback taken below his worth. It fills a real need, too.
Pick246
Rnd7
Roman Hemby
Roman Hemby in Round 7, Pick 30 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
