Philly V DRAFTING FOR THEEagles

Draft Grade — Eagles

TradesF
FutureB-
The Eagles got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D. The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.
For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. Dennis-Sutton has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Landing Johnson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
In the 23rd overall pick they get a seam-stretching tight end. A real need, handled.
Pick54
Rnd2
Chris Johnson
Nice patience on Chris Johnson, who had no business lasting to the 54th pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick68
Rnd3
Isaiah World
Isaiah World at slot 68 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick69
Rnd3
Dani Dennis-Sutton
They went early on Dani Dennis-Sutton in the Round 3 slot, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick98
Rnd3
Zakee Wheatley
Zakee Wheatley is a better player than Round 3, Pick 34 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
Pick122
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
Bryce Lance at No. 122 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick137
Rnd4
Keylan Rutledge
A quiet steal in pick 137: Keylan Rutledge for less than the market said. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick151
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Davison Igbinosun. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick179
Rnd5
Gracen Halton
Gracen Halton in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick201
Rnd6
Bryce Foster
A reach on Bryce Foster in the 201st overall pick; the board had better options right there. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick210
Rnd6
Peyton Bowen
The board had cheaper options than Peyton Bowen at slot 210, and it noticed. It fills a real need, too.
Pick247
Rnd7
Haynes King
They took Haynes King at par in Round 7, Pick 31, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
