Philly V DRAFTING FOR THEEagles
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Eagles checked most of the boxes and earned a B. There is reaching, and then there is Aaron Graves at the 137th overall pick. The Eagles jumped the board by 22 and dared it to prove them wrong. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
On value alone, Thieneman makes the weekend a net positive. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Denzel Boston
In pick 23 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick54
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman in Round 2, Pick 22 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick68
Rnd3
Isaiah World
A reach on Isaiah World in pick No. 68; the board had better options right there. It fills a real need, too.
Pick98
Rnd3
Chase Bisontis
They paid sticker price for Chase Bisontis in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick122
Rnd4
Michael Trigg
A straight-up fair deal on Michael Trigg at No. 122, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick137
Rnd4
Aaron Graves
A wild overpay on Aaron Graves in the 137th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick151
Rnd5
Kevin Coleman Jr.
A clean, defensible pick in Round 5, Pick 13 with a little surplus value in Kevin Coleman Jr.. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick179
Rnd5
Pat Coogan
No edge and no loss on Pat Coogan in pick 179; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick201
Rnd6
Antonio Kite
Good price on Antonio Kite in the 201st pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
