FutureB+
The Eagles checked most of the boxes and earned a B+. The war room fell hard for Aamil Wagner, and it showed at pick 137: 19 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Daniels.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a building block for the line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
D'Angelo Ponds
A tidy little value on D'Angelo Ponds in the 54th overall pick, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick68
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
A clean, defensible pick in pick 68 with a little surplus value in Eli Stowers. It fills a real need, too.
Pick98
Rnd3
Caden Curry
The board had cheaper options than Caden Curry at the Round 3 slot, and it noticed. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick122
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
They read the board right and Bryce Lance was the payoff at the 122nd pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick129
Rnd4
Skyler Gill-Howard
They took Skyler Gill-Howard at par in pick No. 129, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick137
Rnd4
Aamil Wagner
Aamil Wagner at pick 137 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick151
Rnd5
Aaron Anderson
No edge and no loss on Aaron Anderson in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick163
Rnd5
Pat Coogan
Pat Coogan at pick No. 163 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick179
Rnd5
Bud Clark
Bud Clark in the 179th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick201
Rnd6
Jalon Daniels
Jalon Daniels is a better player than No. 201 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick210
Rnd6
Dijon Johnson
A reach on Dijon Johnson in Round 6, Pick 31; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick241
Rnd7
Luke Hasz
Luke Hasz at the 241st overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
