The trade table was where it all came apart. The Vikings shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Little went right, and the F does not pretend otherwise.
Jayden Daniels gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Robinson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
There is no soft landing here: they fought the board and left safety open, and the grade is the bill.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get the face of the franchise. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In pick No. 11 they get an anchor for the defensive front at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
They liked Jackson Powers-Johnson enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 43. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid up for Ruke Orhorhoro at the 55th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. A need, and now a little less of one.
Trey Benson at slot 66 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
By-the-book stuff, Jarvis Brownlee Jr. at pick 105 squarely in line with his ranking. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A reach for Darius Robinson in the 109th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
