There is reaching, and then there is Skyler Gill-Howard at the 110th pick. The Bengals jumped the board by 22 and dared it to prove them wrong.

They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it. McDonald falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
