Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Panthers let Stowers fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+.

Whoever sat across the table from the Panthers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. The bottom line is a respectable B+.

That is a tight end worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.

The Black pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Sonny Styles
In the 26th pick they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick83 Rnd3 Eli Stowers
A tight end of that caliber at the 83rd overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick91 Rnd3 Ja'Kobi Lane
No edge and no loss on Ja'Kobi Lane in pick No. 91; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick119 Rnd4 Parker Brailsford
No drama and no debate, Parker Brailsford went about where he belonged in No. 119. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick156 Rnd5 Jalen Stroman
Jalen Stroman slid further than he should have, and the Round 5 slot is lovely value for the safety. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick157 Rnd5 Kaleb Proctor
The board had cheaper options than Kaleb Proctor at slot 157, and it noticed. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick198 Rnd6 Kaelon Black
Kaelon Black at pick 198 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick235 Rnd7 Luke Altmyer
A premium they did not need to pay, Luke Altmyer a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
