Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Packers robbed the room for Golday. Final grade: D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Packers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. Every board in the league had Halton lower, and that gap is the story. Golday at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick39 Rnd2 Chris Johnson
Nothing to complain about; Chris Johnson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick52 Rnd2 Lee Hunter
Fair-plus on Lee Hunter, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick85 Rnd3 Jake Golday
Jake Golday at the Round 3 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick120 Rnd4 Logan Jones
A reach on Logan Jones in the 120th pick; the board had better options right there. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick121 Rnd4 Gracen Halton
A conviction pick on Gracen Halton at pick 121 that the board grades a round light. It fills a real need, too.
Pick126 Rnd4 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun at the 126th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick158 Rnd5 Nate Boerkircher
Nice patience on Nate Boerkircher, who had no business lasting to Round 5, Pick 20. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick166 Rnd5 Matt Gulbin
They liked Matt Gulbin enough to skip the value, taking him in the 166th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick199 Rnd6 Tyren Montgomery
The board fumbled Tyren Montgomery all the way to No. 199, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick236 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in pick 236 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick254 Rnd7 Cole Payton
Cole Payton slid further than he should have, and the 254th pick is lovely value for the quarterback. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick257 Rnd7 Josh Cuevas
Josh Cuevas slipping to pick No. 257 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
