Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
Allen should have been long gone. The Ravens pounced, and earned a B+.

The real work happened on the phones. The Ravens fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with.

That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Aireontae Ersery pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Carnell Tate in slot 18. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick49 Rnd2 Caleb Banks
They did well to land Caleb Banks in pick No. 49, just ahead of his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick59 Rnd2 CJ Allen
CJ Allen in the 59th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick82 Rnd3 Keionte Scott
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Keionte Scott at No. 82 is the proof. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick115 Rnd4 Jaeden Roberts
Jaeden Roberts in pick 115 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick152 Rnd5 Kage Casey
Kage Casey in the Round 5 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick160 Rnd5 Keagen Trost
Good price on Keagen Trost in pick 160, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick172 Rnd5 Chase Roberts
They let Chase Roberts come to them and pounced at the 172nd pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick173 Rnd5 Febechi Nwaiwu
They took Febechi Nwaiwu at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick234 Rnd7 Jadon Canady
Jadon Canady at pick No. 234 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick249 Rnd7 Cole Payton
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cole Payton at the 249th overall pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick252 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
A tidy little value on Trey Zuhn III in Round 7, Pick 36, a step better than break-even. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
