Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB+ FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Ravens for Hecht: B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Ravens watched Sam Hecht slide 28 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The Payne pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq in the 18th pick is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick45 Rnd2 Chris Johnson
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 45, where Chris Johnson graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick49 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
Value with a capital V on Emmanuel Pregnon in No. 49, a genuine coup. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick80 Rnd3 Ted Hurst
Ted Hurst at Round 3, Pick 16 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick115 Rnd4 Sam Hecht
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Sam Hecht in pick 115, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick154 Rnd5 Kaytron Allen
Fair-plus on Kaytron Allen, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Pick162 Rnd5 Isaiah World
Isaiah World in the Round 5 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick164 Rnd5 Zxavian Harris
A slide stopped in slot 164, with Zxavian Harris worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick173 Rnd5 Kaleb Elarms-Orr
No drama and no debate, Kaleb Elarms-Orr went about where he belonged in the Round 5 slot. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick174 Rnd5 VJ Payne
A real head-scratcher, VJ Payne in pick No. 174 is miles ahead of his ranking. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick250 Rnd7 Logan Taylor
They paid up for Logan Taylor at slot 250 when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick253 Rnd7 Eli Heidenreich
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Eli Heidenreich at the 253rd overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
