Best value of the weekend goes to the Vikings for Sarratt: C. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Vikings shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. It washes out to a C, no better and no worse.
The Sarratt pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Riley Moss deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In the Round 1 slot they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, outstanding value to boot.
Pick49
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Dillon Thieneman in pick No. 49. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick64
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter is a better player than the 64th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick97
Rnd3
Elijah Sarratt
Elijah Sarratt at No. 97 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick104
Rnd4
Mike Washington Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Mike Washington Jr. at the 104th pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick141
Rnd5
Isaiah World
They did well to land Isaiah World in pick 141, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick161
Rnd5
Tanner Koziol
Tanner Koziol at the Round 5 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick194
Rnd6
Justin Jefferson
Justin Jefferson at the 194th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
