Draft Grade — Saints
Overall

FutureB-
The Saints kept it disciplined and banked a B-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Saints reached some 43 spots for Dominic Zvada, and value like that does not grow back.
The Slaughter value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In Round 1, Pick 8 they get a bell-cow for the offense. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick42
Rnd2
Caleb Banks
Caleb Banks in pick 42 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick73
Rnd3
Jake Slaughter
They barely believed it either: Jake Slaughter still on the board at pick No. 73. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick132
Rnd4
Tanner Koziol
Tanner Koziol in the Round 4 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The roster fit checks out.
Pick136
Rnd4
Ted Hurst
They went early on Ted Hurst in the 136th overall pick, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick157
Rnd5
Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson at the 157th pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick170
Rnd5
Taylen Green
Nothing to complain about; Taylen Green went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick188
Rnd6
Dominic Zvada
Dominic Zvada in pick No. 188 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick235
Rnd7
Tony Rojas
They reached into another round for Tony Rojas, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
