They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Ty Simpson is the Jets' quarterback, full stop. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

They punted on offensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Smith steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

They will need Simpson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with quarterback the one that mattered most.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
