Draft Grade — Bills

Corleone should have been long gone. The Bills pounced, and earned a B.

Call it larceny. Dontay Corleone sat on the board until slot 60, and the Bills did not need to be asked twice.

For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Denzel Boston
Denzel Boston in the Round 1 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick60 Rnd2 Dontay Corleone
Dontay Corleone at the 60th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick91 Rnd3 Anthony Lucas
By-the-book stuff, Anthony Lucas at slot 91 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick126 Rnd4 Jaishawn Barham
Nice patience on Jaishawn Barham, who had no business lasting to pick No. 126. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick166 Rnd5 Red Murdock
No edge and no loss on Red Murdock in No. 166; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
