Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesA- FutureC
Good, not great, for the Eagles: B-.

There is reaching, and then there is Malachi Lawrence at the Round 3 slot. The Eagles jumped the board by 40 and dared it to prove them wrong. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

On value alone, Allar makes the weekend a net positive. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Dani Dennis-Sutton
They reached into another round for Dani Dennis-Sutton, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick54 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
They read the board right and Emmanuel Pregnon was the payoff at No. 54. The roster fit checks out.
Pick57 Rnd2 Eli Stowers
They took Eli Stowers at par in the 57th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick68 Rnd3 Michael Taaffe
The board had Michael Taaffe higher than slot 68, and the safety fell to them anyway. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick98 Rnd3 Malachi Lawrence
A big swing on Malachi Lawrence at the 98th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick122 Rnd4 Tacario Davis
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tacario Davis at pick No. 122. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick137 Rnd4 Kage Casey
By-the-book stuff, Kage Casey at Round 4, Pick 37 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick151 Rnd5 Drew Allar
They let Drew Allar come to them and pounced at slot 151. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick154 Rnd5 Ted Hurst
Ted Hurst in pick No. 154 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
