The Bears won the night they stopped Lew from sliding. Grade: B-. The Bears ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Getting Lew where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The Dennis-Sutton reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
