The Rams cashed the board's mistake on Hurst: B-.

Somebody in the Round 6 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Rams sat still while Ted Hurst, the No. 175 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Every board in the league had Dunker lower, and that gap is the story. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Mansoor Delane
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. More want than need.
Pick29 Rnd1 Gennings Dunker
They reached a country mile for Gennings Dunker at pick No. 29, and the board is aghast. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick61 Rnd2 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren is a better player than slot 61 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick93 Rnd3 Emmett Johnson
They paid sticker price for Emmett Johnson in the 93rd pick, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick167 Rnd5 Nate Boerkircher
Nate Boerkircher at the Round 5 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick205 Rnd6 Sawyer Robertson
A straight-up fair deal on Sawyer Robertson at the 205th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick208 Rnd6 Ted Hurst
Taking Ted Hurst in No. 208 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick232 Rnd7 Raylen Wilson
Raylen Wilson in pick 232 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick250 Rnd7 Andre Fuller
Andre Fuller at the 250th overall pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick256 Rnd7 Logan Taylor
They paid a round early for Logan Taylor in pick No. 256, more than the board wanted. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
