Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Eagles.

Nobody had Anthony Lucas this high, and it is not close. The Eagles reached 31 spots to get him at pick No. 68. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it. Joly falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 R Mason Thomas
In the 23rd overall pick they get juice off the edge, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 Derrick Moore
They paid up for Derrick Moore at slot 54 when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick68 Rnd3 Anthony Lucas
They left a pile of value on the table to take Anthony Lucas this early at the 68th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick98 Rnd3 Tyreak Sapp
A wild overpay on Tyreak Sapp in pick No. 98, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick122 Rnd4 Justin Joly
A slide stopped in pick 122, with Justin Joly worth more than the price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick137 Rnd4 Malik Benson
Malik Benson in Round 4, Pick 37 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick151 Rnd5 Beau Stephens
A reasonable price with a little left over, Beau Stephens in slot 151. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick179 Rnd5 Aamil Wagner
A tidy bit of business in the 179th pick, where Aamil Wagner graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
Pick201 Rnd6 Dalton Johnson
They took Dalton Johnson at par in Round 6, Pick 22, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
