Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Buccaneers: B-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Kyle Louis at the 116th pick is 33 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Stowers at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

With cornerback, edge rusher and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In No. 15 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, and a steal at that. Need was not the driver here.
Pick46 Rnd2 Lee Hunter
No drama and no debate, Lee Hunter went about where he belonged in pick No. 46. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick77 Rnd3 Eli Stowers
They barely believed it either: Eli Stowers still on the board at Round 3, Pick 13. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick116 Rnd4 Kyle Louis
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Kyle Louis at linebacker with cornerback, edge rusher and other spots open.
Pick153 Rnd5 Keagen Trost
Keagen Trost at pick 153 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick193 Rnd6 Pat Coogan
Pat Coogan in slot 193 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick229 Rnd7 Diego Pavia
Diego Pavia in No. 229 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The roster fit checks out.
