There is conviction, and then there is this. The Colts took Nyjalik Kelly a full 58 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

The Colts indulged a want in Everette while a need in quarterback, offensive lineman and other spots stayed open. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They banked enough surplus on Kitselman to cover a lot of smaller sins.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
