The 49ers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Patrick Payton at No. 200 regardless, 51 picks early.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will answer for taking safety early while wide receiver, quarterback and other spots went begging.

They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. That Kilgore pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
