Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Raiders found their guy under center in Mendoza: B-.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Raiders spent their marquee pick on Fernando Mendoza, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

Reaching for Robertson left real value on the table behind him. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Moore.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In slot 1 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
Pick36 Rnd2 CJ Allen
A tidy little value on CJ Allen in the 36th overall pick, a step better than break-even. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick67 Rnd3 Omar Cooper Jr.
A quiet steal in the 67th pick: Omar Cooper Jr. for less than the market said. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick102 Rnd4 Devin Moore
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Devin Moore in Round 4, Pick 2, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick117 Rnd4 J.C. Davis
A straight-up fair deal on J.C. Davis at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick134 Rnd4 Dametrious Crownover
No drama and no debate, Dametrious Crownover went about where he belonged in pick No. 134. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick174 Rnd5 Sawyer Robertson
A big swing on Sawyer Robertson at No. 174, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick180 Rnd6 Aaron Anderson
The board had Aaron Anderson higher than pick 180, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick183 Rnd6 Jalen Stroman
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jalen Stroman in pick No. 183. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick219 Rnd7 Jadon Canady
Jadon Canady slipping to No. 219 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
