Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
B-
ValueA-

FutureB
The Titans robbed the room for Johnson. Final grade: B-. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Chris Johnson got past him. The Titans do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 86. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The Johnson pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at edge rusher and quarterback.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
In No. 22 they get a red-zone target to build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Jermod McCoy
Jermod McCoy is a better player than pick No. 35 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick55
Rnd2
Kayden McDonald
Circle this one: Kayden McDonald at Round 2, Pick 23 is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick66
Rnd3
CJ Allen
They will replay CJ Allen at the 66th pick for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick86
Rnd3
Chris Johnson
A curious use of pick 86. Edge rusher and quarterback needed the pick; a cornerback in Chris Johnson did not.
Pick101
Rnd4
Germie Bernard
Steal is underselling it; Germie Bernard at slot 101 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick123
Rnd4
Jadarian Price
Jadarian Price in the 123rd overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick142
Rnd5
Jack Endries
They barely believed it either: Jack Endries still on the board at the Round 5 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick144
Rnd5
Dametrious Crownover
Dametrious Crownover in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick184
Rnd6
Febechi Nwaiwu
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Febechi Nwaiwu at Round 6, Pick 3 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick194
Rnd6
Aaron Anderson
Aaron Anderson at the 194th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick225
Rnd7
Matt Gulbin
Matt Gulbin in the 225th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
