The steal of the weekend belongs to the Texans and Slaughter: B+.

You build a draft on nights like this. Jake Slaughter had no business being available in the 69th pick, and the Texans did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
