Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Bills turned the phones into found money: B+.

The real work happened on the phones. The Bills fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with.

They will need Curry to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The Kilgore pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick47 Rnd2 CJ Allen
CJ Allen at slot 47 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick65 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy is a better player than the 65th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick91 Rnd3 Bryce Lance
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Bryce Lance. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick104 Rnd4 Caden Curry
Value said wait; Caden Curry in the 104th overall pick says they were not listening. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick126 Rnd4 Jalon Kilgore
They will replay Jalon Kilgore at No. 126 for years; that is how good the value is. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick165 Rnd5 Albert Regis
No edge and no loss on Albert Regis in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick168 Rnd5 Kage Casey
They read the board right and Kage Casey was the payoff at pick No. 168. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick182 Rnd6 Kaleb Elarms-Orr
Kaleb Elarms-Orr in pick 182 lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick183 Rnd6 Eric Rivers
Eric Rivers slid further than he should have, and the 183rd pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick217 Rnd7 Eric McAlister
Somehow Eric McAlister was still sitting there in Round 7, Pick 1, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick220 Rnd7 Jadon Canady
Jadon Canady in the Round 7 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
