Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesD+ FutureA
The Rams checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Rams took Sage Ryan a full 60 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Getting Ramsey where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Avieon Terrell
In pick 26 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value.
Pick29 Rnd1 Chris Brazzell II
In pick No. 29 they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick61 Rnd2 Kamari Ramsey
Circle this one: Kamari Ramsey at Round 2, Pick 29 is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick93 Rnd3 Carson Beck
Carson Beck slid further than he should have, and slot 93 is lovely value for the quarterback. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick126 Rnd4 J.C. Davis
No edge and no loss on J.C. Davis in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick167 Rnd5 Terion Stewart
They did well to land Terion Stewart in the 167th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick168 Rnd5 Patrick Payton
A real head-scratcher, Patrick Payton in the Round 5 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick206 Rnd6 Jerry Wilson
They paid up for Jerry Wilson at pick No. 206 when waiting would have done the job. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick209 Rnd6 Anthony Evans III
Anthony Evans III in slot 209 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick228 Rnd7 Roderick Kearney
A big swing on Roderick Kearney at the 228th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick232 Rnd7 Jordan Hall
Jordan Hall in the 232nd overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick250 Rnd7 Shamar Easter
A straight-up fair deal on Shamar Easter at Round 7, Pick 34, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Pick256 Rnd7 Sage Ryan
They reached a country mile for Sage Ryan at No. 256, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
