Nobody else had Malachi Lawrence anywhere near No. 112. The Chiefs did, by 35 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
