Nussmeier is the plan now, and the Rams grade out a B-.

The search is over. The Rams handed the keys to Garrett Nussmeier, and the whole operation now runs on his development. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

However the rest shakes out, Thieneman at that price is a win they earned. They are betting Bowry proves the room right and everyone else wrong. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Jermod McCoy
In the Round 1 slot they get a press-man option on the boundary. More want than need.
Pick29 Rnd1 Garrett Nussmeier
In pick No. 29 they get their guy under center for the next decade, though they paid up to get him. A real need, handled.
Pick61 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
They robbed the room for Dillon Thieneman here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick93 Rnd3 Jude Bowry
A real head-scratcher, Jude Bowry in pick 93 is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick167 Rnd5 Terion Stewart
Nice patience on Terion Stewart, who had no business lasting to the 167th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick205 Rnd6 De'Zhaun Stribling
No drama and no debate, De'Zhaun Stribling went about where he belonged in Round 6, Pick 26. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick208 Rnd6 Jalon Daniels
A slide stopped in the 208th overall pick, with Jalon Daniels worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick232 Rnd7 Jack Velling
Jack Velling in slot 232 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick250 Rnd7 Ricardo Hallman
Ricardo Hallman slipping to pick 250 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick256 Rnd7 Jamari Lyons
Jamari Lyons in the 256th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
