Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Broncos spent the 140th pick on Cole Payton, a name the board had a full 62 spots lower. No fireworks, but a solid B.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. That is a tight end worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The Broncos clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
