Draft Grade — Saints
Overall
B

NeedA-

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Saints: B. The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named offensive lineman, a need the Saints walked right past.
That Ramsey pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Keldric Faulk
In the 5th pick they get a double-digit-sack hope. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36
Rnd2
Kayden McDonald
A tidy little value on Kayden McDonald in No. 36, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick67
Rnd3
Kamari Ramsey
A tidy bit of business in the Round 3 slot, where Kamari Ramsey graded well above the range. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick147
Rnd5
Nic Anderson
Nic Anderson at the 147th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick185
Rnd6
Antonio Kite
A reasonable price with a little left over, Antonio Kite in pick No. 185. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
