The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Fernando Mendoza, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

However the rest shakes out, Trotter at that price is a win they earned. Spending an early pick on safety with edge rusher, cornerback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The cost of the Leigh reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
