Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesC- FutureA
The Jets cashed the board's mistake on Wetjen: B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Jets watched Kaden Wetjen slide 21 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

The Jets indulged a want in Rodriguez while a need in edge rusher stayed open. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Caleb Downs
In the 2nd overall pick they get an enforcer at safety. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick18 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick33 Rnd2 Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles slipping to the 33rd pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick80 Rnd3 Jacob Rodriguez
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Jacob Rodriguez at linebacker with edge rusher open.
Pick103 Rnd4 Jack Endries
Jack Endries at slot 103 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick109 Rnd4 Kaytron Allen
No drama and no debate, Kaytron Allen went about where he belonged in pick No. 109. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick115 Rnd4 Parker Brailsford
They paid sticker price for Parker Brailsford in No. 115, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick175 Rnd5 Tyren Montgomery
A clean, defensible pick in Round 5, Pick 37 with a little surplus value in Tyren Montgomery. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick178 Rnd5 Kaleb Proctor
Kaleb Proctor at the 178th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick192 Rnd6 Matt Gulbin
A quiet steal in pick 192: Matt Gulbin for less than the market said. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick206 Rnd6 Sawyer Robertson
A straight-up fair deal on Sawyer Robertson at No. 206, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick209 Rnd6 Sam Roush
No edge and no loss on Sam Roush in slot 209; it is a wash and a sensible one. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick218 Rnd7 Jadon Canady
Jadon Canady slid further than he should have, and Round 7, Pick 2 is lovely value for the cornerback. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick242 Rnd7 Kaden Wetjen
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Kaden Wetjen in the Round 7 slot, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick252 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at pick No. 252 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
