Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Buccaneers a B-.

You can hear the double-takes from here. The Buccaneers took Derrick Moore at the Round 4 slot, roughly 39 spots before his name belonged. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Styles.

Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Matayo Uiagalelei
In pick No. 15 they get a bendy edge with upside, reach and all. A real need, handled.
Pick46 Rnd2 Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles at No. 46 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick77 Rnd3 C.J. Fite
They reached a country mile for C.J. Fite at Round 3, Pick 13, and the board is aghast. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick116 Rnd4 Derrick Moore
A real head-scratcher, Derrick Moore in pick 116 is miles ahead of his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick153 Rnd5 Logan Jones
A tidy little value on Logan Jones in the 153rd overall pick, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick195 Rnd6 Sawyer Robertson
They went early on Sawyer Robertson in the 195th pick, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick229 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
A premium they did not need to pay, Trey Zuhn III a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
