Simpson is the plan now, and the Dolphins grade out a C. The rest of the league will want that one back. Emmanuel McNeil-Warren tumbling to the Dolphins in pick No. 138 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
Whatever Ty Simpson becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The Jabrill Peppers pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
