The Giants kept it disciplined and banked a B-. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Giants left interior defensive lineman untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
Reaching for Styles left real value on the table behind him. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Sonny Styles
In Round 1, Pick 11 they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece, even if it was a touch early. Need was not the driver here.
Pick37
Rnd2
D'Angelo Ponds
A reach for D'Angelo Ponds in slot 37; a little patience would have been rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick105
Rnd4
Deion Burks
Deion Burks in No. 105 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick143
Rnd5
Domani Jackson
They liked Domani Jackson enough to skip the value, taking him in the 143rd pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
