Draft Grade — Titans
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB- TradesA+ FutureB-
The Titans turned the phones into found money: B+.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Titans came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They banked enough surplus on Tiernan to cover a lot of smaller sins.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Caleb Downs
In No. 13 they get a rangy last line of defense, and a steal at that.
Pick29 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the 29th pick they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Colton Hood
A reasonable price with a little left over, Colton Hood in slot 35. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick61 Rnd2 Taurean York
They did well to land Taurean York in pick 61, just ahead of his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick66 Rnd3 Ian Strong
They paid sticker price for Ian Strong in pick No. 66, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick101 Rnd4 Caleb Tiernan
They let Caleb Tiernan come to them and pounced at Round 4, Pick 1. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick140 Rnd5 DJ McKinney
Nice patience on DJ McKinney, who had no business lasting to the 140th overall pick. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick142 Rnd5 Blake Miller
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 5 slot with a little surplus value in Blake Miller. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick167 Rnd5 DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart slid further than he should have, and pick 167 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick184 Rnd6 CJ Daniels
No drama and no debate, CJ Daniels went about where he belonged in slot 184. The roster fit checks out.
Pick238 Rnd7 Desmond Reid
Desmond Reid in Round 7, Pick 22 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
