Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
B

More right than wrong for the Cardinals, and a B to prove it. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Cardinals walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
That is a quarterback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. If Proctor pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Kadyn Proctor
In No. 8 they get a long-term starter on the line, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
KC Concepcion
KC Concepcion in the 39th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick70
Rnd3
John Mateer
They read the board right and John Mateer was the payoff at pick No. 70. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
