The Patriots clearly saw something nobody else did in Deven Eastern, taking him 40 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

However the rest shakes out, Wheatley at that price is a win they earned. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
